The roots of this style of conservatory come from 17th century Holland.
The concept, though, maybe much older. There are records of buildings similar to orangeries in 14th-century France, and the Romans had built glorified greenhouses many years before that.
The word 'orangery' comes from the 16th century. Initially, these orangeries (as the collection of trees was known) stayed in the gardens. But, with the introduction of plant pots, they were brought indoors.

They can be constructed to any popular style or shape depending on the property being expanded. Lean-to, Victorian, Gable, and Shaped just to name a few. In any capacity they offer the same ‘A’-rated levels of energy efficiency available with our PVCu windows and doors.
Our Orangeries are available in a choice of solid colours and woodgrain finishes. Different finishes can be applied to the outer frames and sash than that of the inside frames.
