The 14th October marked a new chapter in The Window Co story as we officially opened our new 5000sq foot purpose built Showroom and TradePlas trade counter.
The Mayor of Trafford officially cut the ribbon to our new Showroom & TradePlas warehouse and declared us “open for business”. We invited friends, family, customers old and new, to join in our celebration of all the hard work put in and our new beginnings.
The whole team now feel we have a workplace that reflects our strong ethos of quality workmanship and we can’t wait to welcome you in to see for yourself. We can cater for all of our customer’s needs when it comes to choosing the right doors or windows as all the products we sell are now on show.
We have also massively expanded our trade offering with our sister company TradePlas, we now have more than 5 times the space compared to our previous warehouse. This allows us to stock most items on same day delivery and also means quotes can be turned around within an hour.
Our New Premises Journey
It started a year before when we got the keys to what was basically a disused drive-through car wash sat on a car park in Stretford.
Luckily, we had the vision to know what to do with the space we had found and how to turn it into something special.
The year that’s it’s taken to build has gone by in a flash, it’s testimony to our team as to what can be done when you have the right people with you along the way.
We had to get planning permission first before we could put a spade in the ground but as soon as we got it in went the diggers.
I know how the people feel on Grand Designs now when they say “we’ll be in by Christmas” and before you know it it’s Easter the following year, it’s so easy for things to drag out.
We are very lucky in the fact that our team as said previously are amazing and we couldn’t have done it without them working until 9pm a lot of nights, and all after a long day fitting too.
We have a great network of people that will pull things out of the bag for you and help you out, from Dan our IT man to Peter our electrician. It pays to be nice with people as you never know when you’ll need their services or help.
As the Beatles famously sang “Oh I get by with a little help from my friends”, and with our new premises project it really did make the difference as we finished the build in good time and also the quality of finish is clear to see.
A HUGE thank you to all that helped, especially “Mick” here’s to another 30 years…
