Rest In Peace, Stephen Bancroft
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Stephen Bancroft.

Stephen aka Banger passed away on 13th May following a short but strong fight with Cancer.
Banger has been such a valued & instrumental member of our team from the day he & his fitting partner Robbo arrived at The Window Co.
As far as double acts go these guys were the Ant & Dec of double glazing, never mind Morecambe & Wise, John & Paul or even Max & Pady we had "BANGER & ROBBO"
He was first & foremost a man of integrity, he demanded the absolute best in everything he did, especially his work, he would accept nothing but perfection each & every-time & expected the same from the whole of The Window Co team "we didn’t call him the Sarge for nothing"
His motto was "You’re only as good as your last job" this wasn’t just a flippant comment he made to impress, it was a way of life & it worked as he was VERY VERY good.
I can’t think of one job in all of the years that a customer said otherwise, in fact they went above & beyond to tell us how good he was & all of the 5 Star Google reviews he received were testament to that & they’ll be online for all to see, forever!
Banger strived for quality in everything he did but there was more to him than just being a perfectionist, he was caring, supportive & listened.
It wasn’t just a job to Banger, he wanted The Window Co & the whole team to succeed & he would help in anyway he could. He’d be the first to make suggestions of how things could be done better & was always on hand to offer support to the team, whether that be words of encouragement to the younger lads, putting in extra shifts to get jobs finished for customers or sticking his big arm around you when it’s just been one of those days!
I could carry on forever about just how good of a person, fitter & friend he was, but the truth Is there will never be enough words to do him justice, in the words of his favourite tipple...
"If Carlsberg did Window Fitters"
RIP Big Man. ❤️💙
We’ll never forget you!
The funeral was held on the 12th June 2020 at Southern Cemetary and, despite the current events with COVID-19, we had a great send off for a man that meant so much to us, his family, and the customers he worked with.
Thankyou for showing so much support.
