North West critical care charity

At The Window Company, we believe in giving back to the community we serve. That’s why we’re proud to announce our latest contribution of £500 to the North West critical care charity. This remarkable organisation provides life-saving care during medical emergencies and plays a crucial role in supporting the health and safety of people in the North West. By making this donation and continuing our long-standing Recycle & Reward initiative, we’re doing our part to help this vital charity carry on its incredible work.

Introduction of key individuals involved

The donation came to life through a collaborative effort between valued individuals closely connected to the charity. Trustee Dane Smith (on the left), a good friend of ours and a passionate advocate for the charity’s mission, also owner of RiverBank Coffee, reached out to see if our Recycle & Reward programme could lend its support. Responding was Wayne Shaw, our Managing Director. Finally, we had the privilege of hearing from Trainee Responder Doctor Chris Marsh (on the right), whose hands-on experience on the frontlines of pre-hospital critical care highlighted the immense significance of contributions like ours.

Overview of the North West Pre-Hospital Critical Care Charity

The North West critical care charity operates with one simple but powerful goal: to help those in urgent need. This volunteer-led organisation responds to emergencies where advanced medical expertise is crucial, working in collaboration with the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust to ensure expert care is available when lives are on the line.

Their team of highly skilled volunteer responders includes doctors with diverse specialisms such as emergency medicine, anaesthesia, and surgery, as well as advanced paramedics. These incredible individuals often juggle their careers in the NHS or private practice, dedicating personal time to respond to serious incidents. Whether it’s a retired professional or someone finishing a long hospital shift before heading out to assist, their commitment ensures enhanced patient care is available outside of hospitals.

Impact of donations on the charity

Donations like the £500 we provided are vital to the continued success of the North West critical care charity. These contributions go directly towards purchasing life-saving equipment and supporting the operational costs needed to sustain their urgent care response services. With annual costs exceeding £15,000 and the expense of preparing a new responder standing at £7,400, every donation makes a significant difference.

The impact of this support is clear. This year alone, the charity has responded to 317 incidents, 46 of them involving children in medical emergencies ranging from trauma to acute illness. These statistics underscore the life-saving importance of their work and the necessity for ongoing community support.
