And breath! The Window Company managing director Wayne Shaw took part in the The ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon this past Sunday (19th April).
Wayne took park in the marathon as part of a relay team that also included Paul Taylor from The Fat Loaf restaurant. The team ran a good race and came 5th out of 134 other relay teams, which isn't too shabby!
This was the "Run" part of our WashRockRun fundraising events we are doing in 2015, all raising funds for our Charity of the Year, The Alex Hulme Foundation.
Wayne says:
"It was my first time running the Manchester Marathon and I couldn't believe the support in each town we ran though gave us. Brooklands Road really stood out for me as I've never seen it packed with so many people! I'm really happy with the team's times and the extra money raised for The Alex Hulme Foundation is fantastic."
We have now gone past the £3000 mark so we are well on track to hit our target and raise £5000 by the end of the year.
The next part of our WashRockRun events is the rock part which is a gig we have planned for Saturday June 20th at Ashton on Mersey Cricket Club. There's 3 bands playing with a BBQ supplied by the fat loaf. There's only a few tickets left for this event so don't hang around!
